Darius and I went to New Jersey last week to spend some time with my grandparents in the snow. It was Darius’ first time seeing snow and he actually really liked it! I didn’t have any snow clothes so I was wearing leggings with my grandfathers timberland snow boots haha but HEY it kept me pretty warm. AND I didn’t have gloves either (even though my grandma gave me a pair) because I left them inside. haha The Florida weather got me so accustomed to just going outside that I really didn’t think it through until I was outside freezing. I was not prepared for how cold it was so we lasted probably a total of 10 minutes outside.
I always love visiting my grandparents, they raised me when I was a kid and to sleep in the room I grew up in was really nice. They didn’t change it one bit! It brought back so many memories from my entire childhood. My grandpa always had a cam corder in hand and recorded everything, he also would take film photos pretty much everyday and we would get them developed twice a week. I had so much fun going through endless amounts of albums from 1992 until now of pictures him and I would take. I seriously ate so much on this trip, my grandma fed me fruits, too many bagels, tea every morning, the best vegan meals ever (I even got her to like vegan now), along with too many cookies after dinner. Darius really loved seeing them and to be honest they helped me so much. I got to relax and have a second hand, at home Daryoush is at work most of the time so it is usually just me and the baby. My lips got so chapped this trip and my skin was SOOO dry. Darius’ cheeks were so pink and anytime he goes in the cold that happens and Im not sure if it is eczema or what it is but I feel so bad anytime it happens because they get SO chapped. While I was there I had plans to go to NY but I really just enjoyed relaxing, I went to the salon instead for the day with my grandma, and took a visit to the jersey shore with my grandfather. I got to see my cousins and we played Mario kart for a couple hours lol Last time I saw my grandparents feels like forever ago so I was so grateful to see them. I love them so much and seeing them made me realize how much I miss them and how truly important family time really is. I am so glad I went! Making time to see your loved ones even if you have a busy schedule is really so rewarding. I am excited to see them again. Love them! Xoxo
